Fitness Pros, Health Nuts, Office Slaves, And Home Bodies - Cash In On The Wellness Revolution!
Do you know anyone who needs to lose weight. Stupid question, right. Let s try this one: Do you know anyone whose health needs some improvement. Stop it - this is supposed to be a serious article. How about this one: Do you know anyone who is financially set, and never has to worry about money again - for the REST of their lives. Okay, now this is getting ridiculous. Do you see the madness or the pattern yet in these questions. Every SINGLE person that you know needs to either lose weight, clean up their health, or make more money. Name one person who doesn t fit into one - if not all - of those descriptions. You can t do it, can you. Of course not. So, all of that being said, who do you think is in the best position to take advantage of this horrific state of affairs. Personal trainers and other fitness professionals. Maybe, but only to a certain degree. Your average personal trainer, nutritionist, or weight loss coach has exactly 24 hours in their day just like you do. If they aren t doing what they do, they are aren t getting paid. If you know a personal trainer or other fitness professional, I challenge you to ask them if they feel like they spend enough time...
7 Steps To Lower Blood Pressure
Lowering the blood pressure readings should be foremost in the mind of anyone who has high blood pressure. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a health problem affecting nearly one out of every four people in this country. Billions of dollars are spent on medications each year to treat it. Most high blood pressure is categorized as essential hypertension which is elevated blood pressure without a known cause. In adults, it is generally diagnosed when the systolic reading is 140 mm Hg and the diastolic reading is 90 mm Hg. A diagnosis is confirmed when these readings are sustained at these levels over a period of time. It is unfortunate that many of the medicines taken to treat high blood pressure cause cardiovascular risks of their own, such as raising cholesterol. Other problems that can be caused by antihypertensive medications include male impotence, fatigue, diarrhea, dizziness and elevated blood sugar levels and headaches, to name a few. So, even though there are drugs that can bring blood pressure down to within normal ranges, their use should be taken seriously and cautiously. Lifestyle Changes Can Lower Blood Pressure A moderate change in lifestyle...

New Data Shows Statins May Help Hispanics With High Cholesterol
While statin medications have helped millions of patients lower their cholesterol levels, until now, little has been known about how Hispanic patients respond to statin therapy. This is because this group is typically underrepresented in clinical trials. One study, called STARSHIP STudy Assessing Rosuvastatin in HIspanic Population , presented at the National Hispanic Medical Association NHMA annual meeting, is the first-ever large-scale, prospective trial exclusively designed to compare the effects of statins in Hispanic patients. STARSHIP evaluated the efficacy of AstraZeneca s cholesterol lowering statin Crestor rosuvastatin calcium; CRESTOR and atorvastatin in 696 randomized Hispanic patients with elevated cholesterol and moderate to high risk of having a cardiovascular event, and found that Crestor at 10 and 20 mg reduced LDL-C or bad cholesterol by 45.2 and 50.0 percent compared to 35.9 and 42.4 percent at similar doses with atorvastatin in Hispanic patients p 190 mg dL and aggressive lipid targets, a 20-mg starting dose may be considered. AstraZeneca licensed worldwide rights to Crestor from the Japanese pharmaceutical company Shionogi Co., Ltd.
Power Nap Your Way To Success
A power nap is what used to be called a catnap. The new term was apparently coined by social psychologist James Maas. It is a short nap that is designed to refresh you, and make you more productive. Does it work. Sara Mednick, a researcher at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, says napping benefits cell repair, heart function, and hormonal maintenance. What a power nap does is maximize these benefits, by getting the rejuvenative effects in as short a time as possible. Brain function is helped as well. A NASA study found that naps don t aid alertness, but they do improve memory functions. Other recent research shows that power naps can boost productivity, lower stress, and improve learning and mood no surprise there . Analyzing the MRIs of nappers, researchers at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies found that with a nap, brain activity stays high throughout the day. Skip the nap, however, and brain activity declines as the day goes on. Many who are deficient on regular night time sleep make time for short naps during the day. Steve Fossett says that when he made his record 67-hour flight around-the-world alone in his jet, he took a couple dozen...
